With new incoming freshmen and transfer students move-in to campus housing set for Saturday September 17, my sister Joy, my brother-in-law Vince, my dad, and niece Angel set out Friday for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. If the weekend weren't packed full of activities for the other kids, we would have all gone.
Ronick Putong goes off to college.
My dad of course had to help his first grandchild move into Cal Poly. We all know how big an occasion it is for Filipino parents and grandparents! (I still regret taking the opportunity away from my parents to help me move into the Tercero dorms in UC Davis since I took a last minute trip to Los Angeles to hang out with a "friend").
Thanks for taking the family photo Tess!
As Ferris Bueller said: 'Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it'. Ronick is off to San Luis Obispo. Dino will be flying to New York with his parents next month to visit a school on the East Coast.
Good luck Ronick! Dream your biggest dream and make it happen. We know you can do it.
Watch Cal Poly New Student & Transition Programs' Week of Welcome (WOW) 2015
From Orientation.CalPoly.edu: Known simply as “WOW”, Week of Welcome is a nearly 60 year-old tradition at Cal Poly taking place in September leading up to and around your first days of class. Start off your career as a Mustang as you and your new classmates move-in, kick off the year with the Big Fall Welcome, explore the central coast, learn about your role as part of the Mustang Nation, start on your Journey to Academic Success, and make life-long connections. Mandatory for all new students, starting September 17th through September 25th.
