Filipinos among hostages taken by Hamas - Community leader

Fighting between Hamas and Israel rages into a second day with more than 600 people killed in Israel while over 400 Palestinians have died. This major escalation between the two sides began after Hamas breached the border from Gaza in an unprecedented and surprise attack.

Aside from retaliatory strikes, Hamas has reportedly taken dozens of people hostage including Filipinos.

Joining us now from Tel Aviv, Israel is the Philippine Embassy Consul General and Deputy Chief of Mission Anthony Mandap.

When war comes on anywhere in the world, I always remember "IMAGINE" by John Lennon.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
