But my dad's three sisters (my titas) and my son are the ones too close to the Eaton fire.
Thank you for reaching out to me and asking if my family and I are safe. Like you, I can only watch the devastation and tragedy on the news and on YouTube. All the Los Angeles fires have devastated so many lives, but I am keenly watching the Eaton Fire because the titas' house is close to the mandated evacuation areas. Even though they can remain in their home, the air quality is so bad.
My titas and Jian checked into a hotel in Anaheim near Disneyland because my tita thought they were too close. If the Santa Ana winds pick up again to 99 mph... their house is too close. Tita Lila's update is below:
We escaped from LA to Orange county to get away from bad air quality. It was raining ashes when we left.
Of course, I've got tons of family and friends spread out across SoCal. I've texted a few who are okay, but know close friends who have lost their homes.
All we can do is pray that the Santa Ana winds relax somewhat so that the wildfires do not spread as quickly, and that the firefighters can contain the already seemingly insurmountable task at hand.
Again, thank you for your concern.

My titas & Jian evacuated their house 2 days ago although they were not in a mandated evacuation area. Air quality is so bad, and the house is just too close for comfort.
